The Exchange Market: January 18th

📢 Join us on Saturday, January 18th at The Exchange, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM The Exchange is a monthly market-style event for our church community to buy/sell/trade goods from and with one another. Items often seen at The Exchange include seasonal produce, locally sourced beef, fresh eggs, canned goods, dehydrated and freeze dried goods, soaps & detergents, plants, hand-crafted items, and tactical gear. Divisions of RHC’s The Landing are also represented: Communications (program your HAM radio as part of your emergency prep) Gardening (“grow” your knowledge and skill for your own garden) Preserved (topics include dehydrating, canning, freeze drying) Herbal Balances (learn about the value and usefulness of herbs) Fitness (learn to improve your own physical fitness) Don’t be afraid to trade!  This is where it gets really fun!  Consider bringing something from home to see if it can be traded for something you might need.  Bring your extra harvest from your garden and connect with someone who has preserving skills, they can preserve for you in exchange for a share of your harvest.  You’d like to grind your own flour but don’t have a mill?  Someone has that, too.  Bring your grains and have a conversation, perhaps they’ll mill it for you in exchange for a share. Please click HERE below to reserve a space for your items. Contact Jonathan or Casey (firejt50@yahoo.com or castramm@gmail.com) with any questions.

Floating Axe Head Campaign

About the Floating Axe Head Campaign: With the same space dilemma of the Prophet Elisha and his students faced with his Bible study/school, we are at a point where we need to expand our campus since “the place where we dwell with you is too small for us” (2 Kings 6:1-7). Just as the students of Elijah sought to expand their campus, we need to expand our educational facilities. We aim to have twelve state-of-the-art modulars installed and operational by the Fall for our church’s Bible Studies on Sunday, during the week, and for our Rock Harbor Academy Christian School. These modulars will be a shared space. This expansion of classrooms will also free up our 10:00 a.m. Sunday Worship Service, which is already busting at the seams. Having all our Adult Bible studies at the 10:00 a.m. hour will create much-needed room for us to grow at this popular worship service hour. If you recall the story of the floating axe head, an interesting thing occurred while Elijah and the school of the prophets were expanding the campus. One of the students helping expand the school was chopping wood and lost his borrowed axe head in the Jordan River. He quickly went to Elijah for help, and Elijah threw a stick in the water and, through God’s miraculous intervention, caused the axe head to float on the water. Then, the student had to go out into the Jordan to retrieve the axe head. The story’s moral about the floating axe head is that although God can miraculously do the impossible (i.e., cause an axe head to float on the water), He still expects us to do our part. (i.e., swim out into the Jordan and grab the floating axe head. It’s a division of labor principle. God will not do what He expects us to do. We already have the twelve modulars, so we need to raise $500,000 for the installation of essential infrastructure such as the foundation, electrical, and plumbing. Therefore, we must raise as much money  as possible and let God do the impossible. We are committed to God’s vision for Rock Harbor Church and Rock Harbor Academy, so we must keep expanding to accommodate the growth and opportunities the Lord is providing us. Your contribution to the Floating Axe Heads Campus Expansion is not just a financial investment; it’s an investment into eternal rewards. Biblical education will occur in these classrooms, shaping the lives of adults and children alike. This is where lives are transformed by the Word of God. It will be a place where Biblical education flows like the waters of the Jordan and where the seeds of faith are sown, making an eternal impact on people. You you would like to Know that your generosity will make a spiritual difference in the lives of individuals who will benefit from this expansion. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to expanding our ability to educate with the Word of God. God will cause the axe head to float, but we must go out and get it! -Pastor Brandon If you’d like to contribute to this campaign, please click the link here and choose Floating Axe Head as the fund.
