Rock Harbor Church Bakersfield

Claudia Gonzalez

Claudia was born in Compton, CA, and raised in Bakersfield by farm laborer parents. Though raised in a Catholic home, she was introduced to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through a Christian friend in kindergarten. At age 11, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Years later, her mother, Teresa, also became a strong woman of faith and spiritual influence in Claudia’s life before passing away in 2019—a legacy Claudia continues to honor.

As a young adult, Claudia sought biblical truth, shedding misconceptions through Scripture and Holy Spirit guidance. In 2019, she found her spiritual home at Rock Harbor Church and became a member the following year. She is the mother of four sons, one with special needs, and enjoys hobbies such as photography, gardening, and, most importantly, studying God’s Word.

Claudia earned her bachelor’s degree in business management while working full time and raising her children. She spent 32 years in human resources and safety, advancing from entry-level roles to director. Her passion centered on employee relations, people development, leadership training, and coaching—often helping others navigate life’s challenges and, at times, even leading them to Christ.

In recent years, Claudia felt called by the Holy Spirit to leave her career due to growing tension between her faith and professional responsibilities. After much prayer and confirmation through biblical teaching, she stepped away from her role in June 2024. On July 1st of 2024, she began serving as a counselor at Rock Harbor Church, devoted to helping others discover their identity in Christ. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s in Christian counseling at Liberty University to further equip her for ministry.

Claudia sees this calling as an eternal honor—to serve the Lord and point people to Jesus Christ.
