Tye and Jenna Blake
Tye was born and raised in Bakersfield. He and his 3 brothers were raised by his dad after his mom left when he was about 4 years old. Tye accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 2008, not long after God brought Tye his soon to be wife “Jenna” in 2010 and then they were married in 2011. They have 3 fur babies, Macie, Buddy, and Zoe. Tye began going to Rock Harbor at the end of 2017. Then in 2021 God opened a door to do full time ministry so Tye left his job in the oil fields to fulfill his call to spread the Gospel though media at Rock Harbor Church as Media Director.
Peggy was born and raised in Wisconsin. She married her husband, a Bakersfield native, in 2008. They have two sons. Peggy received Christ as her Lord and Savior as a teenager while attending a youth event.
Peggy and her family have been members of Rock Harbor Church since 2012. With her passion to serve the body of Christ, she has assisted in various areas including children’s nursery, worship and sound.
Peggy has an Administrative Assistant degree from Northcentral Technical College.
Marci grew up in Bakersfield, CA. She learned about Jesus, and was saved at age 5 while attending a Sunday school class. She has a son, Tyler, daughter-in-law, Adrianna, grandson, Alex, and another on the way.
Throughout her education, Marci enjoyed participating in orchestra, band, choir and musical presentations. Marci’s adult education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Spanish, A Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, An Administrative Services Credential, a Reading Authorization Certificate, and a Bronze Medallion through Koinonia Institute.
Marci became a member of Rock Harbor Church in 2014. She has been involved in the Evangelism ministry, and has gone to El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Honduras, as well as participated in prison ministries, and local outreaches to juvenile detention facilities. She has served in various ministries at Rock Harbor, and is currently the Worship Leader, and the Media Coordinator.
Shannon was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. She was blessed to grow up in a Christian home, which afforded the experience to know Jesus at a very young age. One night her mother was tucking her into bed, and she asked her mother: “How do I get Jesus in my heart?” She was four-years old that night when she believed unto Jesus for salvation, and she was baptized at eight.
Shannon became a member of RHC at its inception, and then moved to Colorado, where she met her husband. She and her husband came to Bakersfield to serve at Rock Harbor Church in 2017. She has served in weekly set-up & tear-down, worship team, youth ministry, prayer ministry, evangelism, welcome team, leading women’s Sunday school, leading women’s support groups and providing individual, marriage, children/adolescent, and family counseling.
Shannon has a bachelor’s degree from Bethany University with an emphasis in church leadership. She has a master’s degree in English from California State University, Bakersfield. Finally, Shannon is a couple months away from procuring her master’s degree in biblical counseling from Liberty University. Shannon has participated in two internships, one with an emphasis in counseling and the other with an emphasis in leading support groups.
Melanie was born and raised in Bakersfield and married her sweetheart, Robert, in 1994. Although Melanie didn’t grow up in a home where she had any kind of spiritual influence, she was led to Christ at 19 years old, by her “soon to be” husband’s father. Robert and Melanie have two adult children: Emily, a mechanical engineer, and Mason, who is pursuing an avionics career in the United States Military. Their family has attended Rock Harbor since 2011, and Melanie has served part-time on staff since 2016.
After a lengthy career in retail, Melanie followed God’s leading into the field of teaching children in a Christian setting. Melanie has been blessed to work with children for the past 16 years and has also served at Rock Harbor with children and youth for the past 7 years. She is employed part-time at Rock Harbor in an administrative position and enjoys volunteering in many other areas of service.
Monica grew up in Southern California. She married a local Bakersfield boy, in 1993. There is never a dull or quiet moment as their home is bursting with love and laughter as they celebrate life with their four fabulous kiddos! Monica was saved, baptized and began her journey as a follower of Christ at age eight.
Monica has been a member of Rock Harbor Church since 2011. She and her family were actively involved in discipleship, Sunday School, and Children’s Ministry, which helped to establish a strong foundation in her walk with God.
Monica’s education includes an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from North Idaho University followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Fresno Pacific University. She has been on staff part-time at RHC since 2012.
Debi was born again in November 2006 and became a member of Rock Harbor Church in 2012. Debi discovered one of her spiritual gifts as she started volunteering on the Tech Team, which led to her becoming one of our Video Editors. Serving in this capacity has allowed Debi to use the gifts the Lord has given her to minister to others around the world. Debi has a passion for Evangelism and has gone on trips to El Salvador and Coast Rica to share the gospel. She has also participated in ministries at women’s prisons and youth detention facilities.
Debi has worked for her parents for 15 years in the Oilfield Industry. She started out working in the area of order entry and quoting, and later took on the duties of inventory controller. She now has added accounting and managing the front office to her many tasks. This work has equipped Debi to serve in the role of Administrative Assistant.
Debi raised her two sons on her own. She knows the importance of bringing up boys to become Godly men and to teach them to take on the responsibility of becoming Godly leaders one day in their home and community. This lead Debi to also take on the responsibility of Treasurer for the Rock Harbor Church Trail Life for boys Troop CA-811, where their motto is Walk Worthy.
